We at Vitality Complete Dental Care, Stokesley, North Yorkshire, operate independently, free from NHS targets and time pressures with an aim to provide the treatment YOU want and need.

We can provide specialist services in implants and endodontics. We also offer facial aesthetics, dermal fillers and wrinkle relaxants.

About Us

Jayne and Ian Gordon are opening the first Vitality Clinic in Stokesley in September.

Ian Gordon BDS MFGDP
Ian Gordon was brought up in Stokesley before moving all of 50 miles to graduate from Newcastle University in 1984. He returned to the area and has established several practices in the North East over the years most recently being a partner in The Dental Centre Group , which is now operated by a Corporate Group. Vitality is the end product of years of experience in dentistry and Ian is already enjoying being free of NHS restrictions

Ian has been involved in Vocational Training since 1990 and is currently a Vocational Training Adviser to the Northern Deanery. He is still chair of Tees Local Dental Committee and a founding member of the CHALLENGE pressure group www.challengeDoH.com formed to raise concerns about the effect of the new NHS dental contract on patient care

Ian has considerable experience in all aspects of patient care but particularly enjoys endodontic treatment (root fillings) and cosmetic treatments and has an interest in Orthodontics (braces, especially Invisalign). Ian is committed to post graduate education not only of others but for himself attending many courses each year as part of his own personal development.

Jayne Gordon BDS MFGDP
Jayne Gordon BDS MFGDP also graduated from Newcastle in 1991 and worked with Ian Gordon at Eaglescliffe and Belle Vue under her maiden name of Jayne Corbett. In 2000 she established The Dental Centre Middlesbrough before leaving NHS dental practice soon after the problems with the new contract became all too apparent.

Jayne has also been involved with Vocational Training and enjoys cosmetic dentistry. She is equally committed to postgraduate education and is currently attending a year long extended restorative dentistry course with Ian so as to offer patients absolutely up to date yet tried and tested treatment.

Jayne has adopted the North East as home after moving to Newcastle from Coventry as a student

Ian and Jayne are delighted to offer patients the benefit of the considerable experience gained from establishing The Dental Centre, working in the challenging NHS environment .

Private practice allows the freedom to promote the high standards we intend to achieve and the time to ensure this is delivered.

Andy Burns
One specialist service we are offering from this practice is an Oral Surgery service. Mr Andy Burns, is accepting referrals for the full remit or oral surgery within our practice. He is working as an independent practitioner within Vitality and is happy to see patients for difficult extractions, buried roots and third molar extractions.

Andy is a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at Sunderland Royal Hospital. His sub specialty interests include dentoalveolar surgery, dental implantology and head and neck reconstruction. He has trained and worked in the region for nine years. He runs and contributes to regular courses on various aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery to include dentoalveolar surgery, implant surgery, skin cancer and head and neck cancer.

Andy’s experience with dental implantology goes back to the late 1980’s when techniques were being pioneered and he is currently active in using implants to rehabilitate major facial trauma and head and neck cancer patients. This often involves placing implants in less than ideal situations requiring free vascularised bone flaps and grafts.

Janet Dimauro EDH
Janet Dimauro EDH is our dental hygienist who joined The Dental Centre Group in 2005. Janet left to work in private practice but has seized the opportunity to work with us again in Stokesley

The rest of the team is vitally important to the smooth running of the practice. We are delighted to have the experience of our Practice Manager, Fiona Postgate , who has worked with Ian and Jayne for over 10 years and was previously the manager of The Dental Centre Guisborough, of Ellie Maxwell, who has worked for Ian and Jayne for over 8 years and Rachel Dunston who has “only” been with the team for a couple of years!

Why should I join Vitality?
Since April 2006 patients are not registered with a NHS practice. Vitality Complete Dental Care at Stokesley, North Yorkshire, offers patients membership giving benefits in terms of access to routine, cosmetic and emergency treatment. The first 500 patients will be given Gold membership as founder members of the practice. We offer treatment in relaxed, ultra modern surgeries from experienced dentists using the latest in cross infection control and technology

Why are you not a NHS practice
Stokesley Dentists at Vitality Complete Dental Care in North Yorkshire, wants to operate independently, free from NHS targets and time pressures with an aim to provide the treatment YOU want and need. We may be able to offer NHS Orthodontics if the PCT agrees to this.

What about children?
We have made a very special deal for children. Children under 5 are seen free ( if one parent is registered) Children age 5–17 pay only £6 per month with NO additional charge for treatment of baby teeth and 1/2 price treatment for adult teeth

What if I require emergency treatment during the day?
Priority will be given to our Vitality Dental Plan members but we also offer emergency appointments to non registered patients

What do I get for £12 a month?
2 examinations per year
2 Scale and polish visits(normally with a hygienist)

World wide out of hours emergency dental treatment
20% discount off normal treatment fees (Gold members 25%)

Will I notice a difference?
We certainly think so - from the friendly welcome at reception, patient internet access and coffee, to the time we can spend with you.

If you are wanting something different from your dentistry you will not be disappointed. We have the time, for example, to use the latest Velscope light at your examination for the early detection of oral cancer.

Do you just do routine treatment?
Vitality will offer a full range of routine and cosmetic treatment. We have an orthodontist and an implant specialist available for more advanced treatment. We also offer facial aesthetics - dermal fillers and wrinkle relaxants as well as tooth whitening.

Do I have to join the practice?

Whilst we want patients to join our practice, we will see patients for individual treatments such as a crown or root filling. We also offer membership at £2 per month to include insurance cover but then all treatment including exams must be paid for. There is an annual scheme at £7 per month available to certain low need patients (at the dentists discretion)
